Walker Fowler Clinches Florida ATV Overall Win

PALATKA, Fla. (March 7, 2021) – The 7th Annual Moose Racing Wild Boar kicked off round two of the 2021 Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) Series presented by Specialized, an AMA National Championship, on Sunday, March 6, 2021. The world’s fastest off-road ATV racers would take to the sandy terrain of Palatka, Florida at Hog Waller’s Mud BOG & ATV.

As the race got underway it was Hunter Hart Racing/Maxxis/Fly Racing’s Hunter Hart grabbing the $100 All Balls Racing XC1 Pro Holeshot Award. However, it wouldn’t be long until the number one machine of WFR/GBC Tires/Fly Racing/Yamaha’s Walker Fowler made his way into the first place position. Fowler would continue to lead throughout the duration of the race, but he soon felt the pressure from round one’s winner Bneal Motorsports/CST/Houser Racing’s Brycen Neal.

As Neal made his way into second, he would continue to push Fowler with the duo coming through timing and scoring just two seconds apart while the white flag waved, which indicated just one more lap to go. Fowler would continue to hold off Neal and come through to take his 61st ATV Overall GNCC win. Neal would unfortunately suffer a mechanical issue and be unable to finish the race.

Hart would continue to push himself during the race and put himself in the position to land second overall on the day in Florida. Action Off-Road/Kenda/Tely Energy’s Cole Richardson tried to make a last lap pass on Hart, but he would catch a rut heading into the finish line sending him flying off his ATV. Richardson remounted his machine and made his way to the checkered flag, managing to hold onto the final podium position.

Working his way from a last place start to the day was OBOR/Moose Racing/Parts Unlimited backed rider, Adam McGill. As the XC1 riders made their way through timing and scoring on lap one, McGill would sit in the eighth place position. McGill would continue on through the race, making the necessary passes to move himself into fifth and then fourth overall as the checkered flag flew.

Rounding out the top five overall was JMR/GBC/Elka/Moose Racing’s Jarrod McClure. As the day got underway McClure would check in with a sixth place start, he would continue push holding onto sixth for the majority of the day. On the last lap McClure would make the move into fifth place, holding it until he reached the finish line.

Chris Borich Racing/GBC/Action Off-Road/Fly Racing/AMSOIL’s Chris Borich had a continuous battle throughout the race in Florida. Borich would swap back-and-forth from seventh to eighth and then back to seventh before finishing out his day with a sixth place overall result. Coming through to take seventh overall was FTR Graphics/Fly Racing/Nine2 Goggles’ Westley Wolfe. After finishing ninth two weeks ago, Wolfe made some steady advances as he came through the pack from an 11th place start to the day.

Earning eighth overall on the day was Pierce Performance/GBC Tires/Fly Racing’s John Glauda Jr. As he came through on the opening lap, Glauda Jr. would find himself running 10th overall. He would continue to push himself for the remaining laps, making some much needed passes for his overall finish. Merritt Racing/BNR Motorsports/GBC’s Josh Merritt came through to take ninth overall, while GBC Motorsports/Yamaha’s Johnny Gallagher rounded out the top 10 in the XC1 Pro class.

When the XC2 Pro-Am class took off it was Nick Davidson earning the $100 BNR Motorsports Holeshot Award. However, it would be BNR Motorsports/Houser Racing/HMF Engineering’s Ronnie Rusch coming through with the lead on lap one of the race. BNR Motorsports/Yamaha’s Ben Kowalewski would come through second on the opening lap just .099 seconds off of Rusch. Kowalewski would make the pass while out on the second lap of racing, and he would not look back as he continued to lead the class crossing the finish with over a minute gap back to second.

Rusch would make a slight mistake on lap two, costing him two positions for the next couple of laps. Yet, Rusch would make a last-lap pass to regain the second place position and come through to see the checkered flag. Coming through to take third in the XC2 Pro-Am class was Nine2 Goggles/GBC Tires/BNR Motorsports’ Tanner Walker. Walker would have an up-and-down day as he fell back to forth on lap two, but then made the move into second on lap three. Walker continued to battle for the duration of the race and would finish by rounding out the XC2 podium.

Earning Top Amateur honors was College A’s Steven Harrell after an impressive 10th place overall finish on the day. Junior A’s Jay Shadron would come through to take his class win and 14th overall, with Junior A’s Jeremy Ledonne rounding out the top amateur podium with a second in his class and 19th overall finishing position.

Wolfe will head into round three with the points lead in the 4x4 Pro class.

HMF Engineering/GBC Tires/BNR Motorsports’ Branden Frazier earned his first-ever 4x4 Pro class podium on Sunday morning. Frazier started off the day in fourth, but he would soon be making his way towards the front of the pack. With one lap remaining he would make the pass stick for second. Coming through to finish third in the class was Can-Am/Tennessee Towing/BNR Motorsports’ Robbie Pecorari, who also grabbed the $100 BNR Motorsports Holeshot Award to start the race.

In the WXC class it would be BNR Motorsports/GMC/HMF Engineering’s Jessica Elioff coming through to cross the finish line first, earning her first-ever WXC class win. Elioff, who earned the Women’s amateur championship in 2020, made the move up this year and landed herself two podium finishes in her first two races. Action Off-Road/Moose Racing/GBC Motorsports’ Katelyn Osburn battled throughout the day after losing the lead on lap one, she worked her way back up to second in the class. With time running out she was unable to catch Elioff for the lead, Osburn would come through 25 seconds off of the lead. SBR/Custom Axis/Moose Racing’s Angel Magee rounded out the top three WXC ATV finishers in Florida.
