AMSOIL GNCC Racing Returns to Pennsylvania
For Second Annual Mason-Dixon GNCC
Fowler Aims to Earn Ninth Win, While Others Hope to Halt His Success

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (September 24, 2019) – The 2019 AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) Series presented by Specialized, an AMA National Championship heads to Pennsylvania for the 2nd Annual Rocky Mountain ATV/MC Mason-Dixon GNCC this weekend, September 28 and 29.

After earning the win two weeks ago in New York, WFR/GBC/Fly Racing/Yamaha’s Walker Fowler will once again be aiming for that center spot in the podium. Fowler did not earn the win at this brand-new venue last season, and is eager to get the Mason-Dixon GNCC win under his belt. Fowler will be looking to battle with his fellow XC1 Pro competitors at the front of the pack and take home his ninth win of the season. As the season heads into the last three rounds, Fowler is looking to inch closer and closer to earning his fifth-straight National Championship.

JMR/Maxxis/Elka/Moose Racing’s Jarrod McClure returned to the podium in the second place position. McClure had a rough start to the season, and has since been working his way through the pack to get back up front. McClure had his best finish of the season two weeks ago, and is looking to battle throughout the last three rounds to better his national ranking.

Earning the inaugural win at the Mason-Dixon GNCC last year was Yamaha/AmPro/Action Off-Road/GBC’s Cole Richardson. However, this year Richardson has yet to earn an overall win. While he has had several podium finishes throughout the season, he is still aiming to take that number one spot. This weekend he is eager to get back to what is considered his hometown event, and have his friends and family cheer him on.

LanMills XC/CST Tires/Houser/Yamaha’s Brycen Neal currently sits third in the points standings, and has one overall win under his belt thus far in the season. Neal is aiming to take that number one spot back after finishing fourth at the past two races. OBOR/Moose Racing/Parts Unlimited/McGill Mafia’s Adam McGill came through to round out the top five overall in New York, and this weekend he will be working towards another top five finish. McGill has always been a top contender in the GNCC Series, and with his current sixth place standing he is looking to better his overall position this Saturday.

After a rough race in New York, Maxxis/Fly Racing/Ye Olde Cycle Barn’s Chris Borich will seem eager to get back to battling at the front of the pack. Borich is currently second in the points standings, and is aiming to dethrone Fowler for the National Championship this season. M.R. Unlimited/GBC Tires/RJR’s Devon Feehan returned from injury at the previous round, and then proceeded to finish inside the top 10 overall. Feehan finished seventh overall, but had been having a great run all day while even battling for a top five position at one point in the race.

Covert came through eighth overall with Christofferson coming through ninth. BNR Motorsports/GBC Motorsports/HMF Racing’s Josh Merritt rounded out the top 10 overall at the Black Sky GNCC. Merritt has been having a consistent season, and currently holds onto the 10th place in XC1 points.

The XC2 Pro-Am points leader, and Pierce Performance/Maxxis/Waynesburg Yamaha’s John Glauda Jr. comes into this round with a healthy lead. Glauda Jr. has earned nine wins this season, and is looking to continue that success this Saturday at the 11th round of the season. Jordon Poplaski and Drew Landers sit second and third in the XC2 class with one point separating them as the series heads into the last three rounds.
