SUBJECT: COMPETITION BULLETIN 2018-11:

Cancelled Black Sky GNCC Final; Changes made to Class Championship and Overall Number Assignment Requirements

Due to schedule restrictions for the remainder of the year, the recently cancelled Black Sky GNCC, previously scheduled for September 15 & 16 in Harpursville, NY, will not be rescheduled.  This decision was made after consulting with the AMA and all participating OEM’s.  Accordingly, the 2018 AMSOIL GNCC National Championship will consist of only 12 rounds.

Due to the change in the number of national championships events, it is further necessary to amend the 2018 GNCC Amateur Competition Rules with regard to class championship and overall number assignment as follows:

K. NATIONAL AMATEUR CLASS CHAMPIONSHIPS:

Class Championships will be determined by the rider’s best finishes in a minimum number of 9 events in the same discipline (i.e., Bike or ATV). A rider must enter a minimum of 8 events in order to be eligible for series awards and national class ranking.  The entries do not have to be in the same class.  However, a rider must compete in at least 5 events in the same class in order to be eligible for series awards in that class. Only one entry per weekend will count per discipline. (revised 9.19.18)

Micro Class Championships will be determined by the rider’s best finishes in a minimum number of 4 events in the same discipline (i.e., Bike or ATV).  A rider must enter a minimum of 3 events in order to be eligible for series awards and national class ranking. The entries do not have to be in the same class.  However, a rider must compete in at least three events in the same class in order to be eligible for series awards in that class. (revised 9.19.18)

L. NATIONAL OVERALL NUMBER ASSIGNMENT:

The electronic scoring system provides a complete overall race finish for each event. Points will be accumulated for National Number assignment and can be viewed as a gage toward overall ranking for the year.

National Numbers will be assigned based on overall finishes in a minimum of 8 events, with as many as 11 events counting.  The minimum number of events does not have to be in the same class, but it must be in the same discipline. (revised 9.19.18)

Micro National Numbers will be assigned based on overall finishes in a minimum of 3 events, with as many as 6 events counting. The minimum number of events does not have to be in the same class, but it must be in the same discipline, i.e., Bike Micro or ATV Micro. (revised 9.19.18)

Although GNCC strives not to make rule changes during the race season, in this case the change was necessary.
