2017 406 Off Road Powerline Park GNCC
406 Off Road sealed the deal with its first ever team National Championship, bumped a driver to XC1, and had a great showing in XC2. What a great weekend!
Veronica Whitesell Earns 1st Ever Women's GNCC UTV National Championship
Veronica Whitesell #406 lead the Powerline Park race from start to finish. With the hole shot she put her head down and had only one thing on her mind, to finish. "I knew today was a big day for not only me, but my team. I knew I couldn't hang it out and take un-necessary risks. I had to stay out front, and calculate every section and make sure we made it thru in 1 piece. I was able to stay ahead and came into the finish 1st which was 5 wins in a row, and that sealed the deal on my #1 goal this season, the 1st ever Women's GNCC UTV championship. I couldn't have done this with out all of those people that drop everything for me during the week. For all those companies who help me, give me advice, and send me parts. Cant wait for next year as we have even bigger plans to come."
Nolan Whitesell Bumps to XC1
Nolan Whitesell #324 went ahead and bumped to the XC1 class in preparation for next season. With a new build for the last half of the season, the bugs still need worked out. Nolan said of his race, "We had a great start, was third off my row, in the third corner someone bumped me in the back of the car causing all the tireballs on one side of my rear tire to explode, and the wheel bearing to come apart. I was hit pretty hard right off the bat and that puts a terrible damper on the rest of the day." Nolan is impressed with the new build. "We have a great UTV but just going thru a bit of some bad luck, and thats how racing goes sometimes".
Shawn Hayes Finishes 10 in XC2
Shawn Hayes #426 was all business right off the start. From racing for the hole shot on his row, to finishing top 10 in his class, he has now moved into the top 10 for his class in season points. Shawn said of his race, "We got out front early, and just wanted to lay down some good laps. My car was working awesome the first four laps, but then a TPS issue came along and we had to fight thru that on lap 5. All in all it was a good day that could not have turned out so good. We came in to this race needing some good points and we got them. The #426 machine will be ready to rock and roll come Ironman in a few weeks." Shawn has fought hard this season and is ready for the last round to finish out his first GNCC season strong!
