Brive, FRANCE – At the end of a long, demanding and incident-filled running of the FIM International Six Days Enduro, FMF KTM Factory Racing Team’s Taylor Robert has claimed victory in the Enduro 3 category, as well as finishing in a strong third place outright. Completing a stand-out first ever participation in the Women’s World Trophy class, Kacy Martinez, Brandy Richards and Rebecca Sheets placed second for team USA.

Bringing his participation in the 92nd running of the ISDE to a successful close, Taylor Robert earned a well-deserved Enduro 3 class win. Although hoping to claim the outright overall win as he did last year in Spain, Taylor nevertheless secured a well-deserved E3 class win while placing third overall.

Taylor Robert: “I’m really pleased with the way this year’s ISDE has panned out for me – to win the Enduro 3 class and get third overall is really cool. Of course I'd hoped to win the overall like I did last year, but, hey, it wasn’t to be this year. I had a couple of days that weren’t great, but generally things went really well. There’s still only ever been a handful of American’s who have won their class at the ISDE, so I’m really proud to be one of them. It was tough to see Thad go out on day one, but the ISDE is a crazy race sometimes. Today I got a terrible start for the final moto. I didn't get a good jump from the start, then I wheelied, but I managed to weave my way through the first few turns pretty good and managed to get close to the front. I was a little crazy during those opening laps, but I kept charging. I passed about four guys in the final lap, which allowed me to get second.”

Rounding out what was an eventful ISDE with a fourth-place result in the final day E2 motocross race, Kailub Russell overcame a challenging start to the event where he suffered in the dust on the special tests to finish as high as sixth in the E2 class on day five before putting in a spirited final motocross performance.

Kailub Russell: “It’s not been the ISDE I’d hoped for, in terms of my results, but I’ve got to the finish in one piece and really enjoyed the final moto. Thad going out was a real bummer in terms of the team result, and it was tough, especially also with the dust, to get into the first few days. But I kept working and made a few set-up changes and started to feel like myself during the final few days. Hat’s off to Taylor and Ryan for giving it everything this week, and thanks to all of the USA team for their help. I flinched on the start of today’s final moto and got a terrible jump. The other riders got their bars ahead of mine, but I somehow managed to sneak to the inside on the first turn to avoid some carnage. I think I came out of the third turn in fourth or fifth. Nathan Watson was riding great, and I could see the rider ahead of him was holding him up. But it was a pretty one-lined test, it was so hard to make up time and pass people. I washed out the front wheel and lost one spot, but I’m pleased with the way things went. Now it’s back home and back to work.”

Showing a true team spirit and delivering impressive final moto performances, the USA’s Women’s World Trophy team placed a close – in relative terms – second to eventual winners Australia at the end of what was unquestionably a tough week for all Women’s competitors. Just under seven minutes behind Australia, Kacy Martinez, Rebecca Sheets and Brandy Richards successfully completed their first ISDE to deliver a highly-credible rookie performance.

This was the first ISDE that Kacy Martinez participated in, and she ended up earning herself fifth place in the women's class.

Kacy Martinez: “I went down in the third corner. I was fifth, pushing hard, and I just hit a freshly watered section of the track and my front end got away from me. It was hard work after that. I gave it my all to the end, but obviously it wasn’t the way I’d hope the final moto would end. I passed quite a few riders, so I guess I should be happy with that. All-in-all it’s been a great experience racing my first ISDE. Fifth overall in the women’s class is pretty awesome. I think we’ve shown just what we can do as a team, so I’m looking forward to more.”

Brandy Richards: “It’s been a long, tough week but I feel like I did really well, and that we did really well as a team. Not really knowing what to expect makes it kind of difficult to come into a race like this as well prepared as you can be, but I feel like all of us have learned a lot and that’s important for the future. The ISDE is tough, but I’ve enjoyed it. I had a great final moto. I was in third, got to second really quick and then went after Laia. I spent a few laps following her lines to see where I could make a pass and just tried to work out where I might be able to pass. It was amazing to race against her, she’s an amazing rider, but I got a great opportunity to get ahead of her and managed to stay tight in one of the corners and get the pass done. I was fortunate that when I went down I was able to get up quick and still get the win, which was cool. It was a nice way to end the event.”

Rebecca Sheets: “The ISDE has a been a real experience. To come to such a big event like this and experience so much during the week, it’s been really cool. I lined up on the outside of the start and just pinned it and came out of the first turn in third, which was cool. I dropped a few spots but made one pass near the end of the race. I was a little tired, but I got to the finish.”

In the Club team competition, SRT Offroad riders Ty Tremaine, Ben Kelley and Cody Webb finished the event on the podium in third. Just one-and-a-half minutes behind the runners-up after more than 10 hours of racing, they produced an impressive and consistent week-long performance to claim a deserved top three result.
