USA's ISDE Title Defense Over, Duvall Out

Monday, August 28, 2017 | 11:30 AM

Enduro21.com: USA’s shot at defending their International Six Days Enduro title is over with Thad Duvall crashing out of the competition early on day one.

The drama and excitement of the 92nd edition of the ISDE is in full flow with the USA’s bid for victory going up in smoke on the opening special test.

A crash on the first test of day one has seen team member Thad Duvall injure his wrist.

Failing to complete the test, Duvall has also not yet arrived to the second test.*

With the World Trophy team competition not allowing any rider drop outs — all four scores count each day — it means USA’s bid for victory is already over.

As a veteran team member of USA, and having won the last four rounds of the AMA National Enduro Championship, plus wins in the GNCC series, Duvall was one rider many tipped for outright individual success in this year’s ISDE.

At the end of test two on day one, it’s USA’s Taylor Robert who currently leads the way.

But with France filling the next three positions with Jeremy Tarroux, Loic Larrieu and Christophe Nambotin, plus Christophe Charlier in ninth, they provisionally lead the World Trophy classification.

*Duvall has been taken to hospital for a suspected broken wrist.
