Racer Productions is saddened to report the passing of GNCC racer, Craig Petzold. Craig was returning home to Morgantown, West Virginia, from the X-Factor GNCC in Indiana on Sunday, May 21, when he suffered a heart attack.
Craig, 59 years young, was dedicated to higher learning, gaining a Bachelor’s of Science in Pharmacology from the University of Pittsburgh, and Masters Degrees in both Business and Finance from Johns Hopkins University. His passionate work to heal others included Clinical Pharmacology, Nuclear Pharmacology and PET Radiopharmacy.
Few people knew of Craig’s work life or his professional accomplishments. That’s because in his free time, Craig’s zest for life was riding his dirt bike. In addition to his demanding job, Craig dedicated himself to the GNCC series where he is currently ranked 10th overall in the Silver Masters A (55+) division. Craig finished the 2016 season with a national ranking of 6th overall in the class.
Craig’s memorial service will be held at Hastings Funeral Home in Morgantown, West Virginia on July 1 at 3 p.m.
Godspeed, Craig.
