Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing's Thad Duvall Finishes 2nd at Cannonball GNCC

Cannonball Round 3 of the GNCC took place this weekend in Sparta, Georgia where weather conditions were warm with some humidity making the already rough, slick, and hard-packed course more demanding. Each lap ran around 12 miles with average top lap times of 31 minutes. 

Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing's Thad Duvall got a great start as the green flag fell. He headed into the woods in third place, gunning for the top two. Shortly after the start, he was able to progress into second place and hold onto that spot, closing in on the leader. As lap two commenced, the top three were running close together. Duvall was now sitting in the 3rd position when they crossed the finish for the start of the 3rd lap. Lap 3 posed to be a strong run for him as he overtook the lead position for the remainder of the lap. After pitting and losing his lead between lap 4 and 5, Duvall had to ride strong to move back into the top spot. After regaining the lead a slight mistake due to the technical course caused him to fall into second place and ultimately finish there.

"It felt great to battle for the top spot the entire race. I couldn't have asked for a better bounce-back after a tough first round. My FX 350 worked awesome in the mud and Florida sand." Said an excited Thad Duvall. 

Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing's Josh Strang made his comeback to GNCC after missing round 2 due to his previously sustained foot injury. Strang got a great start following Duvall into the woods in the 4th position. From there, the Georgia terrain took its toll on him and he started to fall back out of the top ten. Halfway through the race, Strang fell into a consistent ride and picked off racers one by one until he crossed the finish line in 6th place.

Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing's Thad Duvall and Josh Strang will make their way next to Steele Creek, North Carolina on April 9th for GNCC Round 4.
