Rocky Mountain ATV*MC/KR4 Arrive-N-Ride Team Report: Mountaineer Run GNCC
Wednesday, September 28, 2016 | 10:05 AM
The Rocky Mountain ATV*MC/KR4 Arrive-N-Ride Team conquered tough conditions on Sunday to capture 14 top-ten finishes at the rough and rocky Mountaineer Run GNCC. West Virginia's very own Thad DuVall earned an impressive 2nd overall in his home state, while teammate Hunter Williams secured his fourth victory of the season in the 4 Stroke B Lites class.
DuVall set a positive precedent for his Rocky Mountain ATV*MC/KR4 Arrive-N-Ride teammates as he immediately put his Husqvarna FC350 up front in the 1 p.m. afternoon race. DuVall maintained a solid 2nd place position throughout the three-hour race, where he ultimately finished 55 seconds behind the leader, Kailub Russell.
"It was rough out there for sure," DuVall said. "I had to slow down to go faster and just focused on riding my own race. It was a tough day but the fans here are awesome, I love these hometown races!"
Hunter Williams conquered the place that nearly broke his family two and a half years ago when his father was air lifted from the property after a terrible ATV collision that came into the crowd. Williams put himself within striking distance of the leader early on and kept the pressure on throughout the six-lap race. On the final lap, Williams made his move to overtake the lead and capture his fourth victory of the season in his rookie year in the three-hour race. Williams' teammate Brittan Laird finished 6th in the class.

Rocky Mountain ATV*MC/KR4 Arrive-N-Ride's Brandon Keegan showed up to win on Sunday in a highly competitive 200 C Schoolboy class, where he battled for 2nd place all day. After two hours of intense racing, Keegan ended up finishing three seconds behind 2nd place to earn his fourth podium finish of the season. Chase Sweda maintained his consistent season with 4th place in the same class.

Canadian rider Troy Horbaty continues to impress on his Rocky Mountain ATV*MC/KR4 Husqvarna TC85. Horbaty didn't get the best start but he quickly worked his way into 2nd place on the opening lap. Horbaty was within striking distance of the leader when he took a hard crash on lap four, which dropped him back to 5th place for the remainder of the race.
"I didn't hear the 10 seconds call so I ended up having a bad start," Horbaty said. "I started dead last and worked my way up to 2nd where I was feeling good. I took a hard crash on lap four and lost some time but my bike held up great considering my front wheel and bars were bent pretty bad and I worked hard to salvage a top five."
ANR Team rider Jack Groover earned his second-best finish of the season on Sunday with an 8th place finish in the highly competitive 85 (12-13) class. Dylan Brinson finished just outside the top-ten in the Super Mini (12-13) class with an 11th place finish.
