GNCC Welcomes Three Co-Sanctioning Series to 2016 Schedule
Six Total Rounds to be Partnered with Local Racing Organizations

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (April 21, 2016) – It is with great pleasure that Racer Productions, producer of the AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) Series presented by Maxxis, an AMA National Championship, welcomes three race organizations to serve as co-sanctioning partners. With a total of six rounds of the 13-round GNCC series now partnered with premier regional racing bodies, racers will now be able to connect with various racing series and continue to advance the sport of off-road racing.

The first of these co-sanctioned events is quickly approaching, as round five, the Limestone 100 is set to take place May 14 and 15 in Springville, Indiana. Indiana Cross Country Racing (IXCR), established in 2007, will be co-sanctioning this event, along with the popular season finale AMSOIL Ironman GNCC in October. The Ironman GNCC has been associated with the IXCR circuit since 2009, helping the event grow into a popular destination for racers and motorsports fans.

“IXCR is a tight knit group of racers who love the competition and comradery that comes with cross-country racing and the thrill of competing against some of the toughest talent,” said IXCR President Tim Bowman. “Every year we look forward to the co-sanctioned events with the GNCC Series and love to see our racers competing at the national level when they visit our home state of Indiana.”

Celebrating their 12th year co-sanctioning with GNCC Racing is Western New York Off-Road Association (WNYOA). WNYOA membership numbers are at a record high with almost 200 new members and multiple racers competing in both the WNYOA and GNCC series. The current top two GNCC XC2 ATV Pro-Am racers, Greg Covert and Marty Christofferson, along with multi-time overall amateur winner and College A (16-21) class leader Hunter Hart, are just a few of the dedicated WNYOA racers who travel the East Coast to compete in America’s premier off-road racing series. WNYOA will co-sanction with two rounds in the Empire State, including the Dunlop Tomahawk GNCC in June and the Parts Unlimited Unadilla GNCC in September.

“Everyone with WNYOA looks forward to these co-sanctioned events, and it’s amazing when you have the largest regional hare scramble series combine with the largest and best national series,” said WNYOA President Jeff Hart. “The convergence of these two series brings such a high level of energy that the racing is always guaranteed to excite. It also provides our local racers an opportunity to test their skill level with the best racers in the world.”

Joining the GNCC schedule for the first time is Woods Extreme XC Racing (WEXCR). Founded in 2011 with events throughout West Virginia and Ohio, the WEXCR Series is rapidly growing. Coastal Racing’s Brycen Neal often makes an appearance at the WEXCR events, alongside Rocky Mountain ATV*MC/KR4-backed Thad Duvall. WEXCR competitors ranging from motorcycle, ATV and UTV racers will compete at this year’s Wiseco John Penton GNCC in Ohio and the Rocky Mountain ATV/MC Mountaineer Run GNCC in West Virginia.

“It’s an honor for our series to be able to partner with GNCC Racing,” said WEXCR President Tim Wood. “It will be awesome exposure for our series and a perfect way to let GNCC racers know that we are a great series to catch some practice on the off weekends of chasing their national championships. With the two added events for our series, this will also open the door for our racers to grab some extra points for their respective WEXCR class championships.”

“Regional racing organizations are the backbone of GNCC Racing,” said Director Tim Cotter. “We are honored that these three organizations are willing to share their racers with us, and we hope that these relationships will continue to grow throughout the years.”

The 2016 GNCC series continues next weekend, April 30 and May 1, with the Inaugural CST Tires Camp Coker Bullet GNCC at the Moree’s Sportsman’s Perserve in Society Hill, South Carolina.
