GNCC Steele Creek Round 3 took place this weekend in Morgantown, South Carolina. Rain the previous days led to the track conditions being rough, but as Sunday approached, the weather cleared and racing conditions improved. Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing's Josh Strang started the season with a two race sweep. Strang took off the line with a mid-pack start. Not long after, about mile 5, he moved into 5th with the competition in his sights.
During lap 2, Josh Strang's drive continued as he pushed into 4th with his mind set on the lead. As the last lap set in, Strang was in 3rd place and was showing no signs of stopping. After making a quick pit-stop, he made the pass for 2nd, and rode fast and smooth hoping to make time on the leader. He ended the day with a 2nd place finish to maintain his overall points lead in the series!
"I struggled a lot on the first 2 laps today and that may be what cost me the race. Other than that, the day went well. The track was rough but my FC 450 ran great! I am looking forward to putting myself on the top step in 2 weeks at the next round." said Josh Strang.
Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing's Andrew DeLong did not participate in this round due to a previously sustained injury.
