Husqvarna Race Report: Colton Haaker Takes Third Place at Sacramento EnduroCross
Monday, September 28, 2015 | 9:50 AM
After a summer break in the 2015 EnduroCross series, the circuit returned to an enthusiastic crowd at the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, California. Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Mike Brown stunned the audience with his impressive on-course tactics as he completely jumped over the daunting water pit during the event’s Hot Lap sessions. He set the fastest lap of the day leading into the night show and sealed a win in heat one. During the main event, Brown continued to make impressive advancements, shaving seconds off his lap times by clearing the water pit, but became thwarted by the matrix section, losing his 2nd place position, and settling into 5th for the night.
Fellow Husqvarna rider and Rockstar Energy athlete, Colton Haaker pushed through the field of riders during the main event into second place, but was passed on the last lap by Taylor Robert, placing him 3rd on the podium.
“Sacramento for me is always a great race with my hometown friends and family close by. I enjoyed the race and overcame some adversities throughout the day. Finishing on the podium was a good result and consistent for the championship. I'm looking forward to having a better race in Denver next weekend. Thank you to my team for the great support and for working together to get another podium result,” explained Haaker.
In the Womens Pro class, Sandra Gomez of Spain also climbed to the third step of the podium after battling with the class’s points leaders.
