Lazarus Enoch Sommers, age 50 and his wife, Mary Ann Sommers, age 56, both of Millersburg, died on Friday, April 11, 2014 from injuries received in an airplane crash near Charleston, WV.

Lazarus was born in Orrville on August 21, 1963 to Melvin and Mary (Yoder) Sommers and married Mary Ann Miller on April 3, 1982. Mary Ann was born in Wooster on June 17, 1957 to the late Andrew J. and Sarah (Yoder) Miller.

Lazarus and Mary Ann owned and operated GT Thunder, which is an ATV performance shop located near Benton. Lazarus enjoyed operating his business and interacting with his customers. He had a passion for flying and was a licensed instructor. He also enjoyed bicycling.

May Ann enjoyed assisting Lazarus with the operation of the business and taking care of people, especially her family and friends. She enjoyed their dog, Buster, who also perished in the crash. Mary Ann also collected dolls.

A memorial life celebration will be held on Saturday at 2:00 PM at Mennonite Christian Assembly, 10664 Fryburg Road, Fredericksburg, with Pastor Chuck Lemaster from Team Faith officiating. The family will receive friends following the service until 6:00 PM at the church. Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton is assisting the family with arrangements.
