2013 GNCC Number Confirmation
Monday, November 26, 2012 | 2:00 PM
Morgantown, W. Va.à ”â Riders earning national ranking in the 2012 Can-Am Grand National Cross Country season are now ranked and have been assigned 2013 National Numbers accordingly. Beginning today, riders who earned a National Number are asked to confirm their earned number for the 2013 season.
Amateur and Youth National numbers are assigned based on overall finishes in a minimum of nine events, with as many as 11 events counting. UTV teams must compete in at least four of the six events to earn a National number and the top 20 overall numbers in both afternoon classes (ATV and bikes) are based on overall points, regardless of the number of events entered.
Since it’s not uncommon for riders to request a different number for competition, there are usually several unused numbers throughout the season.Ã To help alleviate problems, Racer Productions is requesting that all riders who have earned National Numbers confirm or deny that they will be using their assigned number next season.Ã In the event that a rider desires to use a different number than their earned number, they may so request at this time. Ã
Additionally, riders who did not earn a National Number this season but meet separate criteria will have the opportunity to request a National Number for next season. Beginning December 10, riders who participated in at least six GNCC events in 2012 and who anticipate competing in at least six GNCC events in 2013 may also request a number. Furthermore, riders who do not meet the above requirements for various reasons (i.e., injury) but who met the same requirements in 2012, may submit a request citing the reasons why they did not meet the requirements for 2013.Ã Such requests may be made beginning January 1, 2013 and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
