GEICO TDI Race Team Press Release

September 27, 2008 ”“ ITP Unadilla GNCC ”“ New Berlin, NY

As the majority of the team was in Denver Jennifer was at round #11 of the GNCC series which is held at the infamous Unadilla track in New Berlin, NY. As usual the weather would not be perfect for the morning start. It was raining and in the high 50’s when the green flag hit the air. Jennifer’s YFZ 450 fired immediately and with the help of the REKLUSE clutch she grabbed the holeshot; heading into the woods in first place.

The rain began to subside as Jen hit the motocross track; she was holding down second place and was flying. Her performance showed she was determined to stay up front. As she arrived at finish line for the end of lap one she was in second place behind race leader Traci Cecco with a thirty seven second deficit.

She fought hard throughout lap two; running with top four of the Women’s A class. Needing gas and gloves Jennifer pitted on lap 3 which placed her in fourth position but that did not hinder Jennifer’s determination to get back to the front. She caught back to the leaders and they pushed one another, swapping positions multiple times throughout the lap.

The terrain was true to Unadilla as it got rougher and rougher; as the day progressed roots became exposed, ruts became deeper and new lines formed. Jennifer worked her way into third place on the last lap but a different line and a lapped rider would hinder her efforts. She dropped to fourth continuing to regain the position. When she took the checkered she was within five seconds of the second place finisher and a mere one second behind the third place competitor. It was definitely one of the most exciting races of the season.

With two rounds remaining in the 2008 GNCC season Jennifer sits in fourth position in points. Her determination is evident and we are excited to see her performance in the last rounds of the season.

Jennifer would like to extend a special thanks to all of their sponsors: GEICO, MSR, MAXXIS, Lojaks Yamaha, Rekluse, SCOTT USA, HMF, Bel-Ray, GT Thunder, Spider Grips, HiPer Technology, FASST Co, PowerMadd, MotoPro Training, Precision, Rath Racing, Triple X Motorsports, IMS, and DP Brakes.  And of course a huge thank you to our fans.

The GNCC series will continue on October 11-12 for the ITP Powerline Park GNCC.
