Am-Pro Yamaha veteran Barry Hawk suffered a hard crash on the first lap of the Pirelli Big Buck GNCC on Sunday. Hawk crashed into a tree in a high speed section, suffering shoulder, rib and lung injuries. Hawk spent Sunday night in the Intensive Care Unit at a hospital in South Carolina, where he was treated for a collapsed lung. He's doing better and is in good spirits now. Hawk is expected to stay in South Carolina for a few more days until his breathing is 100 percent stabilized, and then he will return home for surgery on his broken shoulder. Should be a long and painful recovery for one of the all-time greats of the series.

Get well soon, Barry!
