2008 Team KTM/PowersportGrafx Press Release

North Wilkesboro, NC- The 2008 GNCC season begins in a few weeks and Team KTM/PowersportGrafx is “Ready to Race” .

Pre-season testing has been a major success and team riders have been very competitive in various events in the off-season.

Team riders consist of 5 returning national champions and 1 regional champion.

Kailub Russell will compete for the team in XC2 aboard his KTM 250XCF. Kailub was the 2007 200A GNCC champion.

Jordan Ashburn will be returning to the team this year competing in 250 A. Jordan dominated the 250 B class in 2007 and has had a great winter.

Cory Buttrick was the 2007 250 A national champion and was a team rider at the last round of 2007. There he dominated the 4 stroke A lites class. Cory will pursue the 4 stroke A lites class championship for this season.

New for this season is Lee Rowland. Lee will ride for the team in a support capacity in 200 B. Lee has many regional wins under his belt and is in the process of wrapping up a SETRA Enduro Championship.

Also new to the team are South Carolina’s amazing Baylor brothers. Steward Baylor is the 2007 Big Wheel 12-13 champion and Grant Baylor is the 2007 GNCC 65 7-9 class champion.

KTM’s Jared Chonko had this to say: “KTM Hard Equipment and Genuine Spare Parts are pleased to once again be supporting the team with Hard Parts as well as the team’s official riding gear bringing them in line with the products used by the KTM Factory off road riders”Â

The team is pleased to announce that Pirelli will be their tire supplier this season. Pirelli’s Josh Whitmire stated “This team will allow Pirelli to showcase our products as top competitors in the GNCC” .

Other new partners are Alpinestars, FMF and Synergy Seals.

Returning for 2008 are KTM, PowersportGrafx, KTM Hard Equipment, KTM Genuine Spare Parts, SCOTT goggles, IMS products, Motorex, NGK, and CV4 products.
