Russell Comes Out On Top with FMF Steele Creek GNCC Overall WinApril 3, 2016The third round of the 2016 AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) Series presented by Maxxis, an AMA National Championship, took place today, April 3 at the beautiful Steele Creek Campground in Morganton, North Carolina with the 17th Annual FMF Steele Creek GNCC. With a mix of sun and mild temperatures the groundwork was laid for one of the best races thus far in the season. At the end of the grueling three-hour race it was FMF/KTM Factory Racing’s Kailub Russell who claimed the overall win.

Yesterday’s rain left the track a bit muddy to begin the day, but it did not take long for the track to dry out and create near perfect track conditions by the time the 1 p.m. pro race took to the North Carolina woods.

Ty was involved in a racing incident today, March 13, during his 125 B/C race at the Cannonball GNCC in Sparta, Georgia. Ty was transported from the race venue to the local hospital, where according to reports from his family, he passed away this afternoon. Ty Kesten was 17 years old.
