After a season packed with determination, consistency, and hard-fought battles, Bodie Buckhannon emerged as the 2025 GNCC Youth Quad Overall Champion. After the season wrapped up at Ironman Raceway, Bodie reflected on what it took to reach the top, his favorite tracks, and the people who helped him along the way in this week’s Tuesday Toolbox.
GNCC Racing: Congratulations on earning the Youth Quad Championship! How does it feel knowing all your hard work this season paid off?
Bodie Buckhannon: Thank you! It feels great having all my hard work pay off.
Did you approach Ironman differently, knowing it was the last race of the season and that you had the opportunity to wrap up the overall championship?
Yes, leading up to the race, I increased my physical training and mentally prepared myself for the race. I knew it was gonna be a hard-fought battle.
You were one of the most consistent riders this year, with an overall win and several overall podiums. What do you think helped you stay so consistent round after round?
I raced in several regional series, and when I could not race, I tried to ride and train as much as possible.
What was the most challenging race or track for you this year, and how did you push through it?
Alabama. I started last, and because it was a tight track, it was hard to make passes. I had to find my flow and make passes where I could.
Which GNCC track was your favorite this season and why?
The Hoosier because it has a good flow and is the warm version of Ironman.
Who's your favorite Pro Rider or someone you look up to as a role model for your racing career?
My dad. He taught me how to ride and work on my quads. He rides with me and my brother a lot.
What are your goals for next season: moving up to a new class, defending your title, or something else?
I will be back next season to defend my title. We are also building a hybrid to ride at the regional races.
Let's jump outside the world of racing. When you're not at the track or training, what do you like to do for hobbies and to pass the time?
I ski all winter. I also like to hang out at the lake with my friends.
Finally, I know you don’t do this thing alone. Who are the people and sponsors you’d like to thank?
God, for keeping me safe. Kenda Tires, Cecco Racing, DP Brakes, Custom Axis, FXR, Swampfox Motorsports, SuperATV, BNR, Beckley Honda, Alba Racing, MTech, EVS, 2 Brothers Collision, Don Higbee, WV Tent Rentals, Haztec Solutions, Ceramic Works, Rogers Racing, J& I Trucking, Stafford Racing, Cycra. And a big thank you to Charlie Johnson for building strong motors all year. My brother, Kody Buckhannon, for riding with me. My family for supporting me the entire way, and the Meadows’ family for letting me ride on their property.
