GASGAS FACTORY RACING IN GNCC DEBUT

With immense rain leading up to the Big Buck weekend, riders and teams alike were up against the challenge of nature, with a muddy, treacherous circuit greeting all for Round 1 of the GNCC season.
For Ashburn, front-running speed was shown as the former GNCC Champion held the lead for the first three laps, before trouble struck and ultimately relegated the GASGAS EX 350F racer to an eighth-place finish in class.
Jordan Ashburn: “I got a decent start, found myself up front early and led the first three laps. I felt pretty comfortable up there, but man, the conditions just got the best of us today. Really tough, I think everyone out there had their issues – it's just the nature of the beast. Brutal day on us and the machines, but we’ll be back for another one!”
Making his full-time XC2 250 Pro Class debut, Tino was welcomed to the pro ranks with the wild conditions, battling amongst the sports best on board his GASGAS EX 250F. An eighth-place score in class for his first outing presents a solid springboard to build upon as the season progresses.
Jason Tino: “This round was super-gnarly, we had a bunch of rain overnight which made things tough! Super-rutty and gnarly conditions, but it was an okay round for me. P8 is a good place to start from and see where we stack up. We’ve definitely got better results in us, but overall I would say that this is a pretty good spot to start.”
In the WXC Class, GASGAS-mounted Shelby Turner impressed with a second-place finish to begin her GNCC season.
