The Progressive Grand National Cross Country Series
Announces 50th Annual Season Schedule
12 Micro Rounds and 10-Round eMTB Series for 2025
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (December 13, 2024) – The Progressive Grand National Cross Country Series presented by Specialized (GNCC Racing), an AMA National Championship, is excited to celebrate 50 years of racing in 2025, and Racer Productions, producer of GNCC Racing, is pleased to announce its series schedule for the upcoming year. The GNCC Racing series will continue to run its traditional 13-round schedule and will host events in eight different states, making stops at many of the series’ traditional favorites and adding a brand new location to the schedule.
GNCC Racing will kick off its 50th year in Union, South Carolina with its season opener at the annual Big Buck GNCC on February 15 and 16, the series will then continue on to the Wild Boar GNCC in Palatka, Florida on March 2 and 3, which will continue to be held in conjunction with the Daytona Beach “Bike Week” festivities.
After Florida, the series is excited to announce a brand new location as Talladega Superspeedway will host the third round of racing in Talladega, Alabama on March 8-9, 2025. The track has hosted a variety of racing events since its first season back in 1969, with many of those being sanctioned by NASCAR, however it is the first time GNCC Racing has ever held an event in the state of Alabama. GNCC Racing is excited to host a round of racing at such a legendary location that continues to be rich in racing.
After a two-week break, the series will pick back up with the Camp Coker Bullet GNCC in Society Hill, South Carolina on March 29 and 30. Then on April 12 and 13, The Old Gray GNCC returns after hosting its inaugural event last season in Monterey, Tennessee. This event will host the opening round of The Specialized Turbo eMTB GNCC National Championship Series on Friday, April 11 at 4 PM.
“We are really excited for the 2025 Progressive GNCC Racing season. In addition to celebrating 50 years of GNCC, we also have some great events set for the new season,” said Jeff Russell, GNCC Racing Trail Boss. “Adding in the new Talladega GNCC is really exciting as there has never been a GNCC in Alabama, and getting to race next to one of the most famous speedways in the world is an honor. When you add in classics like Big Buck, Snowshoe, and of course Ironman plus some of the newer favorites like Camp Coker, Mason-Dixon and last year’s all-new Old Gray, the 2025 season is already shaping up to be really fun before it even starts.”
Moving onto round six of the season, the series will head back to Powerline Park in St. Clairsville, Ohio on May 3 and 4, with round seven taking place in Crawfordsville, Indiana for the Hoosier GNCC on May 17-18. The second Specialized Turb eMTB round will take place on Friday, May 16 at the Hoosier GNCC.
On the weekend of May 30 through June 1, the series heads to Mount Morris, Pennsylvania for the Mason-Dixon GNCC, located across the road from High Point Raceway. This event will feature the first of two Specialized eMTB doubleheader races, with one being held on Friday afternoon and the next on Saturday afternoon. Before heading into summer break, GNCC Racing will host its ninth round at Snowshoe Mountain Resort in Snowshoe, West Virginia on June 21 and 22. This event will not host any micro racing but will hold round five of the Specialized eMTB National Championship on Friday afternoon.
The Buckwheat 100 will kick off the fall half of the schedule in Newburg, West Virginia on September 6-7. This event will also host the sixth round of the Specialized eMTB schedule on Friday, September 5. Next up on the schedule will be The Mountaineer GNCC in Beckley, West Virginia on September 20 and 21. This event will continue to be the series salute to first responders and military. The Mountaineer will also be hosting the second Specialized eMTB doubleheader event on Friday, September 19 at 4 PM and Saturday, September 20 at 5 PM.
The penultimate round of racing in 2025 will be hosted in Millfield, Ohio with The John Penton GNCC. This event will also host the ninth round of racing in the Specialized eMTB schedule. Ironman Raceway in Crawfordsville, Indiana will continue to host the season finale race on October 25 and 26. The Ironman GNCC will continue its tradition of being a “pink” race in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness, with more information on the event coming at a later date. This event will also be the season finale for the Specialized eMTB schedule with their final race taking place on Friday, October 24.
GNCC Racing reserves the weekend of November 8-10 as a rain date. The location would be announced a later date, if needed.
