Magna1 Motorsports Husqvarna - Hoosier Race Report
The 6th round of GNCC racing took place in Crawfordsville, Indiana at Ironman Raceway. Magna1 Motorsports Husqvarna brought tough competition to this fast and eventually rough track, competing in youth as well as adult races.
Jordan Ashburn competed in GNCC’s premiere XC1 Pro class, grabbing the holehot right off the start and maintaining a comfortable lead until he took a tough crash down a hill. Ending the day in 5th place, Ashburn maintains a solid championship points standing for the year in the 4th position after this race.
Jonathan Johnsons remains the undefeated FMF Racing XC3 class winner after round 6. Johnson pulls off his 6th straight win in a row at Ironman Raceway, with Chase Colville keeping pressure on him during much of the race.
Chase Landers gave his best efforts in Crawfordsville, fighting a rough track and bike power problems, getting outran in the field sections only to work hard in the woods to catch back up. Landers finished 4th in the YXC1 Supermini class and was able to keep the points lead for the season so far with 109 points, followed by Caleb Lane with 107 and Thor Powell with 105.
In the 85 7-11 Class, Brayden Baisley toughed it out through a hard mid race crash, landing on the podium with a third place finish, only 30 seconds behind second place. This keeps Baisley in the second place position for the season so far, trailing first by 12 points.
Drew Landers is still out for this round with a back injury.
