Indiana’s Lucas Grounds Injury Update and Fundraising Efforts
Amateur GNCC Racer, and 2020 150 B National Champion, Lucas Grounds sustained a devastating crash on the evening of December 10th. Lucas was out riding when he crossed a wooden covered bridge. Unfortunately, the front end washed out and he was tossed into one of the side pillars.
Lucas was flown from Lafayette to Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, IN for emergency surgery. Sadly, during surgery it was found that Lucas had suffered a severed spinal cord. He was taken in for a second surgery to stabilize his spine. Currently Lucas has no movement in his legs but will be starting physical and occupational therapy. His father, Justin Grounds, has been keeping everyone updated via his Facebook page.
There are multiple ways to show and send Lucas and his family your support. On social media be sure to use the hashtag #LucasStrong.
