Trail Jesters KTM Racing – Buckwheat 100 GNCC Race Report

To wrap up the 2020 GNCC season the Trail Jesters KTM Racing team headed to Newburg, West Virginia this past weekend. Jesse Ansley got a killer start as the green flag waved and the XC2 line was off. He headed into the woods 3rd in class and battled with the two riders in front of him for the majority of the first lap until he started getting tight and making a few mistakes which pushed him back a bit. As lap one ended Ansley was 5th in XC2 with the lead group just ahead of him, and the battle continued. Jesse spent most of the 3 hour long race battling for positions as he moved back and forth through his class ranks, where he ultimately crossed the finish line 6th in XC2 and 15th overall.

Ansley reflected on the year by saying “My 2020 season was not the best, but moving forward I do not allow myself to dwell or look back on any negative situations in the past. 2021 will be a better year and I’m already planning for a great season.”

Jumping up to the 250A class for this final round of the 2020 season was Brayden Nolette as he grabbed the holeshot on his KTM 250F. As they headed into the woods Nolette stayed in the lead group of his competitors as he struggled to shake off arm pump the first two laps while also getting used to the four stroke and a lot more torque! After checking in lap two in 3rd place, Nolette found his groove and made the pass into 2nd place. Brayden went the rest of the 3 hour race holding down that 2nd place position and pulling a 2 minute and 47 second lead over third, and as he crossed the finish line he sat in 19th overall.

With 2021 already in mind Nolette stated, “I am really happy I made the switch to the KTM 250 XC-F. I feel like I can progress so much more on it rather than my small bore two stroke another year. I’m really looking forward to training hard this winter and to make a run at the 250A championship next year.”
