MURRIETA, Calif. – KTM Motorsports is pleased to announce that KTM Youth Day will return to the John Penton GNCC in 2020. In its 16th year, KTM Youth Day focuses on celebrating the future of offroad racing by offering a special weekend of activities centered around youth racing.
Serving as Round 7 of the 2020 AMA Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) Series, the John Penton GNCC embraces KTM history as the event is named after the man who originally imported the KTM motorcycle from Austria into the United States. As a salute to Mr. John Penton, KTM will once again honor youth racers throughout the course of the weekend. Every Micro Bike and Youth Bike entry will receive a free KTM Youth Day t-shirt featuring Seven-Time GNCC Champion Kailub Russell and his son. Additionally, KTM would like to recognize each Micro and Youth Bike finisher throughout the weekend by awarding each finisher a special medallion at the finish line.
Participating youth riders can obtain a ticket from GNCC Sign-Up and bring it to the FMF KTM Factory Racing semi for a free t-shirt. Available shirt sizes are Youth XS to Adult L. Due to the current COVID-19 situation and GNCC and CDC guidelines, KTM staff will not be able to come around to the starting line to wish riders good luck. Instead, they will be cheering the riders on from trackside. KTM staff will make the medallion hand-off as contactless as possible at the finish line.
Due to the current COVID-19 situation and GNCC guidelines John Penton and the Penton family will not be present at this year’s event. The Penton family are doing well and wish all the riders the best of luck.
