SUBJECT: COMPETITION BULLETIN 2018-14:
Changes to Pro Class Championship Requirements
The rule with regard to the number of events that will count towards a class championship in the pro class is ambiguous as written. The intent of the rule was to define the maximum number of events that will count towards a pro class championship, not a minimum number of events. Unlike the amateur class championships, there is no minimum number of events a pro rider is required to participate in in order to be eligible for a class championship.
Accordingly, it is necessary to amend the 2018 GNCC Pro Competition Rules as follows:
L. NATIONAL CLASS CHAMPIONSHIPS:
All Pro classes will be recognized as separate National Class Championships. Class Championships will be determined by the rider’s best finishes in the following maximum number of events:
Class | Bike | ATV |
XC1 | 12 | 12 |
XC2 | 12 | 10 |
XC3 | 10 | na |
4x4 | na | 12 |
WXC | 9 | 9 |
Although GNCC strives not to make rule changes during the race season, in this case the change was necessary.
