Can-Am X-Team ATV 4x4 racers continue to excel on the racetrack, notching their second straight 4x4 Pro ATV class sweep in Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) racing series action. Can-Am Outlander 4x4 racer Cody Miller posted his first morning overall victory and second class win of 2016 at round 11, The Mountaineer Run in Masontown, W.Va.
The victory pushed Miller to fifth in the 4x4 Pro ATV class point standings. Miller has earned two consecutive podiums since the GNCC series resumed from its long summer break. He hopes to carry his ATV momentum into the final two rounds of the 2016 schedule. The Texas racer will be competing in two classes at the final two events. He’ll continue his push into the top three in the 4x4 Pro ATV ranks and also defend his current 31-point lead in the highly competitive XC1 Pro UTV class with his Maverick side-by-side vehicle. Miller currently holds his advantage over two-time defending XC1 Pro UTV champion and Can-Am Maverick pilot Kyle Chaney and Maverick racer Tim Farr, who respectively sit second and third in points.
Can-Am Renegade X xc 1000R 4x4 pilot Kevin Cunningham, who won round 10, joined Miller on The Mountaineer GNCC podium. It was his ninth time on the 4x4 Pro ATV box this season. The runner-up finish pushed his class points lead to 44 points over reigning champion and fellow Renegade 4x4 racer Bryan Buckhannon heading into the final two rounds. Buckhannon finished third in West Virginia — his fifth-straight podium finish — to expand the cushion over third place to nine points.
Four different Can-Am 4x4 Pro ATV class racers have notched at least two wins this season leading to the current class standings. Cunningham has four class victories, while Miller (two), Jordan Phillips (two) and Buckhannon (one) have earned five combined. Can-Am 4x4 racers also earned podiums sweeps in the 4x4 A/B and 4x4 Senior (40+) classes and won the 4x4 C class in West Virginia.
