Round 1 – Wild Boar, 3/5/16 Palatka, FL

At the start I was running mid pack, making the necessary passes as the race progressed. All was well until I reached the first mud hole (swamp). I took what I thought was the good line but it ended up being the deepest spot there! My quad was drowned up to the seat. Fortunately, there were great friends around who didn’t hesitate to get muddy and wet! After about 10 minutes they were able to get my quad running again. I was extremely frustrated and almost quit, but quickly realized how foolish that would be. I ended up finishing 4th out of 11 in my class. I earned valuable points on what seemed to be my worst day ever.

Round 2 – Cannonball,  3/12/16 – Sparta, GA

The Cannonball was an all-new track for the series, and it was a good one! I was third going into the woods behind Megan Shepherd with Traci Pickens leading. At mile 5 marker I was able to make the pass on Megan. At this point Traci was long gone. I ran a comfortable 2nd for the day and finished 12th overall out of 250 riders.

GNCC Break -

There was a long break between round two and three. We were lucky enough to have a local race super close to home, where our friends and family were able to come watch and see what it's all about. I raced teh 30+ Open B class and won! I finished 14th overall out of 116, and I had an absolute blast!

Alicia came back and earned a second in Georgia, and then earned her first win of the season in North Carolina.

Round 3 – Steele Creek, 4/2/16 Morganton, NC

Steele Creek was where I got my first WXC win last year! After torrential downpours Friday before the race surprisingly, the track ended up being pretty perfect. I was 2nd at the start behind Megan Shepherd, and we were ripping and having a blast! I was able to put the pass on Megan on the second lap, but soon lost it in the pits. A few miles later I passed her back and was able to keep the lead the whole race.

I am heading into round four as the class points leader. It's exciting but I know it is early yet. I am working hard and I am more determined than ever! I am thankful for each and every one of my sponsors that helps put this dream in motion!

Round four, Big Buck, is in South Carolina on April 16, 2016. Follow me LIVE on Race Day here: http://www.gncclive.com/
