An addition to the off-road paddock this year is the newly formed Bonzi/RideMPS.com Yamaha team. Lead by the guidance of journeyman motocross and supercross privateer Levi Kilbarger, and longtime amateur and pro mechanic Kevin Ganoe, who has worked for riders such as Justin Barcia, and the Bell brothers, bring a strong lineup of contenders ready to do battle against some of the best off-road riders in the world in the Full Gas Sprint Enduro Series and the GNCC Series.
Joining the list of heavy hitters in the XC1 class this year is Hamel, Minnesota’s Jerry Robin. Robin became an industry icon a few years ago, racing a 1985 Honda CR 250 at the Loretta Lynn Amateur National Championships. Even though he has limited off-road experience, Robin is confident aboard his Yamaha YZ450F entering his rookie season.
Rejoining the ultra competitive XC2 class once again is Sam Evans. The West Virginia native has been a consistent top 25 rider the last few seasons, but is ready to make the next step and contend for the XC2 championship this season. After switching to a Yamaha YZ250F toward the end of last season, Evans carries more confidence than ever heading into 2016.
After finishing third in series points in 2015 in the 4 Stroke A Lites class along with two wins, Nelsonville, Ohio’s Triston Landrum is poised to be a consistent podium finisher this year, ready to take home the 4 Stroke A Lites championship. With a new training program and weeks of testing, Landrum carries a new attitude into 2016, determined to be up front at every race aboard is Yamaha YZ250F.
Finishing fifth in the WXC class in 2015, McHenry, Maryland’s Brooke Cosner picked up her new Yamaha YZ250FX and immediately became a different rider. With a bike capable of handling the talent of Cosner, more wins could be on the horizon for the 18-year-old rider. Brooke feels more confident than ever to contend for the WXC title in 2016.
