Team UXC Race Report: Ironman GNCC

The 2015 GNCC season has been a successful year with Team UXC/Polaris Factory Racing claiming 10 of 13 first place finishes in the Pro 4x4 Class. Unfortunately dominating the podium was not enough to pull out the points championship for UXC riders Michael Swift or Kevin Trantham. The Pro 4x4 Class championship hinged on the results of the last race of the season held at the running of the Ironman this past weekend in Crawfordsville, Indiana.
The Ironman is the biggest race of the season consisting of over 500 riders occupying the ten mile course at the same time. Lap traffic became a key factor allowing no room for the leaders to create a gap over their competitors. The Pro 4x4 racers did not disappoint as the crowd watched their epic battle play out until the bitter end. The top three contenders came into the finish line with only seconds separating them all.
Team UXC Pro 4x4 racers, Swift and Trantham finished 2nd and 3rd for the day and well as for the season. “Regardless of our outcome, we are extremely proud of our year,” stated Swift.
Don Higbee finished 2nd in the 4x4 40+ Class while Nic Snyckers claimed a top five finish in the 4x4 C Class. Marc Spartaro wrapped up a 4th place finish in the single seat UTV ACE race and guest rider Torey Rush grabbed an impressive 3rd place finish in his ACE for his first every GNCC race. Trantham claimed 4th in his Team UXC UTV in the Amateur Modified class with Swift rounding out the top five in the XC2 Pro Sport UTV class.
With the close of the 2015 GNCC season at Ironman, Team UXC/Polaris Factory riders have already started preparing and training for 2016 and are excited about what is to come.
