Rockstar Energy Husqvarna's Josh Strang Places 4th at Mountain Ridge GNCC
Husqvarna rider Thad Duvall claims first on the poidum
and Ryan Sipes places 6th.
The Pennsylvania weather took its toll on the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing team this weekend at Round 11 of GNCC. Rain all day made for a soft, muddy track. After starting in 3rd place, Josh Strang pushed to stay up with the leaders. A crash inhibited that, but Strang worked his way back up to 4th place and battled nonstop for 3rd. Not able to recover that third place position, he finished 4th. "Anything off of the podium for me is really frustrating," said Strang "but I felt like I rode decent for my first rock race of the year. I am ready for the enduro this weekend and the last two GNCC's."
Fellow Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing teammate, Andrew DeLong started off strong, but his previously sustained wrist injury was becoming a factor. Delong said "it was getting hard to hold on" and pulled off of the course.
Rockstar Energy athlete and Husqvarna support rider, Ryan Sipes, powered through the muddy and wet conditons but continued to have technical troubles which put him at a 6th place finish. Thaddeus Duvall, a Husqvarna rider claimed the top podium spot for his first overall victory of the 2015 season!
