Obermeyer Suzuki Race Report: Unadilla GNCC

The summer break is over, I have just started my freshman year at University of Southern Indiana, and it was time to head north for round 10 of the GNCC racing series, to Unadilla, New Berlin NY. The weather was perfect, sunny, a brisk 64 degrees after a pretty big rain the night before. The rain made conditions on the track just right.

Preparing for the race had me a little apprehensive, since my results were not where they needed to be last year finishing 4th. The track has a history of having gnarly, tough trail; attrition will be key aboard my Suzuki RMZ 250. With the rotating front rows, we started on the 6th row; I had a solid start heading into the woods. The race was tight for the first 4 laps, battling back and forth with Tyler Braniff until finally I gained a bit of a lead. I was able to maintain and stay on the lead lap, finishing with a 2-minute lead and taking a 36th overall.

After six months and 10 rounds of GNCC racing we are now wrapping up a great season. It has been challenging, and a lot of hard work. My greatest season accomplishment has been securing Top Amateur in Odessa, and with three rounds remaining, my 5 wins and consistency have allow me to clinch the 2015 4 Stroke A Lites championship. October will be another busy month for us as we also wrap up the National Enduro series. This weekend I head to the Black Coal National Enduro, but I won’t have to travel far as this race is held in my hometown of Lynnville. Currently I hold 3rd place in the expert AA class, and 20th overall. This year has been a busy one, but an amazing experience for me, something I would not have been able to accomplish without the help from my terrific sponsors.

I would like to thank my sponsors for making all of this possible: Suzuki Motor of America, Yoshimura Racing, Rekluse Clutches, Sunstar Sprockets and Chains, Stickman Graphix, TM Design Works, Dragon Goggles, Fly Racing Boots, Kenda Tires, IMS Products, Enduro Engineering, Unabiker, Franklin Well Service, Suzuki Genuine Parts and Accessories, No-Toil, Western Power Sports,  Fly Racing Grips, Fly Racing Handlebars, Obermeyer Honda Yamaha Suzuki, Performance Refinish Supply
