Husqvarna Race Report: Strang Takes The Win at Unadilla
Monday, September 21, 2015 | 2:40 PM
The Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing team made triumphant gains at round 10 of the GNCC in New Berlin, NY, as Josh Strang claimed his first overall win of the season! Following Strang, Husqvarna riders, Thaddeus Duvall and Ryan Sipes took home the silver and bronze medals, respectively. Fellow Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing teammate, Andrew DeLong finished an impressive 5th place overall.
Josh Strang holeshot the race and from that point rode aggressively to lead the first two laps. On the third lap he was passed by Ryan Sipes right before the pits. After the third lap Strang was in third place behind both Sipes and Thaddeus Duvall. Josh Strang was close behind the two and jumped back into the lead without looking back. His lead continued to stretch away from his competitors. Josh Strang had a solid day finishing first overall. Strang stated “My bike was good and I am back to being 100%. The hard work I put in over this summer is paying off as I finally got a win. I feel great!”
Not finishing far behind Strang was Husqvarna rider Thaddeus Duvall and Ryan Sipes. This is another amazing finish from Sipes after coming back to the states after a successful Individual Overall finish at the 2015 ISDE in Slovakia.
Battling in the top 10 of the field all day was Andrew Delong. Delong started 6th and battled for 4th and 5th place the whole day. After a few mishaps and lost time, Andrew regained a position and finished in 5th place for the day.
