Steward Baylor Earns Second at Loose Moose National Enduro

Factory FMF/KTM rider Steward Baylor earned his second podium finish of the season at the sixth round of the 2014 AMA National Enduro Series where he placed 2nd overall.
Rain poured down prior to the start of the event which made the course extra slick on the large rock sections. The former National Enduro Champion started the race off right finishing 3rd fastest in the opening special test. The second test was thrown out after an arrow got knocked down at a trail split which caused the second half of the riders to go the incorrect way. Baylor remained consistent in the next two tests to again finish 3rd fastest in the third and fourth test sections.
“The course continued to get more challenging throughout the day,” stated Baylor. “I had to throw my goggles off in the first two tests! It was honestly the toughest National Enduro I have ever raced. I have missed this race due to injury in the past so this was my first year racing this course.”
Despite the challenge of the technical course, Baylor prevailed. He finished the fifth section with the 4th fastest time and came out of the final special test with the section win.
“That final test was difficult but I took my time and rode a smart race and actually ended up turning the fastest time. It feels so good to be back on the podium,” said Baylor.
Baylor’s younger brother, Grant, earned a top five finish with 4th overall while 8-time National Enduro Champion Mike Lafferty finished 6th for the Factory FMF/KTM Team. Reigning National Enduro Champion, Charlie Mullins, remains 2nd in the overall point standings despite missing the past two races with injury.
