Trantham Race Report from Limestone 100

Monday, May 5, 2014 | 2:35 PM

Can-Am’s Kevin Trantham takes the 4x4 Pro Win at Round 5 of the GNCC at The Limestone 100 in Springville, IN. “We came into round 5 leading the points in the 4x4 Pro Class by only 1 point. We knew we had to ride smart and avoid any mistakes," Trantham said. Saturday morning brought beautiful weather. The track conditions were perfect for the Can-Am Renegade.

“We were anxious at the start and when the flag dropped the bike didn’t fire quickly and we fell into 4th  place by the first turn. I knew it was best to settle in and ride my best to work back up to the front,” Trantham said. The leader position saw changes in the first lap and several miles in, Jordan Phillips had bike trouble and we moved up to 3rd . “I stayed calm and focused looking for an opportunity to pass. On the 2nd  lap I took over the lead and tried to ride smart and keep a good pace. Everything on the bike worked perfectly. The Kenda Tires, Tireballs and Ricochet Skid plates were put to the test on this track and proved flawless. The Custom Axis suspension was dialed in perfectly. We were able to take the win in the class and finish 2nd  overall in the morning race. It was a great day and we could not have accomplished it without all our sponsors,” Trantham says.

Hope to see you all in TN for Round 6 of the GNCC.
