DirtWise OMA Rnd 1 Race Report

Fantastic weather greeted riders at Round 1 of the OMA Nationals held near Memphis, Missouri over the weekend and Maxxis/KLIM/DirtWise KTM team rider Jason Thomas railed to an impressive 2nd place finish, just missing the victory due to a bad line choice on the last lap.
Jason Thomas was enthusiastic about his performance, saying, "The OMA's are my focus for 2014 and this was a good way to start off the Championship. I had a great time riding with Whibs and Stu today - it was like being out roosting with a few mates during a fun practice session. On the last lap while leading I took the wrong line on a nasty uphill and got stuck which let both of those guys get past. Once I got going again I quickly caught and passed Stu, then caught Whibs but just ran out of time to make a pass stick on him. This is going to be an exciting Championship battle and I'm ready for it!"
Team owner Shane Watts added, " I'm very pleased with how things went for Jason, and that is the kind of result we were expecting from him during 2014. It's great to see that he has been able to turn things around after a difficult start to the season and get himself back to the results he is capable of!"
The next racing commitment for the Maxxis/KLIM/DirtWise KTM Race team will see Jason Thomas and Jesse Groemm coming in Rd.5 of the GNCC series this coming weekend.
