Factory FMF/KTM rider Ivan Ramirez struggled to find his rhythm at the third round of the AMA National Hare & Hound Series fighting his way to a top ten finish at the end of the 90 mile race.
The factory rider did not get his bike to fire immediately off the line and came out at the end of the bomb run around 45th overall. The extremely dry and dusty course made it hard for Ramirez to pass the riders in front of him.
At the end of the first loop he had moved up to 14th place. In the next 20 miles he was able to move up three more positions and was sitting in 11th place with 30 miles remaining. He was able to pick-off one more rider to move into the top ten before the checkered flag came out. He finished the day with a 10th place result which dropped him to 2nd overall in the championship point standings.
“I had an off day today,” remarked Ramirez. “I am not pleased with my result at all. It was very dusty and hard to move up through the field. I am most upset that I lost the points lead but I plan to work even harder throughout the next few weeks to come back and earn a win at the next round.”
