Ruckle Race Report from The General

Wednesday, March 19, 2014 | 9:15 AM

Hey Everyone Its Cody Ruckle with my race report from round 2 The GNCC Maxxis General. After the Florida round, I spent a few days relaxing in Orlando with friends. On Wednesday we headed up to Durhamtown to get in some good days of riding, however I soon discovered my rear shock was blown on my practice bike, which is what I think caused my crash in Florida. Thanks to Zac at Factory Connection, I was back in business and got a good day of practice in on Friday.

Race day rolled around and I was ready to go. I knew the conditions were going to be bad, but I like the mud and usually do well in mud races. I headed to the line on my YZ 125 in the pouring down rain. Dad held the Fly umbrella in front of me waiting for my row to take off. Ricky threw the flag and my Kenda Washougal’s hooked right up. I got the holeshot and was gone. The track was fun and I was having a blast. I maintained a good lead for the first lap and a half, but during my second lap the bike took in too much water and I was unable to get it to stay running. I waited with my bike along the track. I started to get cold, so in order to stay warm, I started helping other riders who would crash or get stuck. Finally Tommy came along and waited with me till I was towed out. I ended my race with a 6th in class and 212th overall. Hopefully the weather will be better in 2 weeks. See you all at Steele Creek.

I would like to thank God for keeping me safe, Mom and Dad, Ryan Inmon for training with me. Thanks to all my sponsors: Raines Riding University/Atlas Yamaha/Offroadviking.com, Fly Racing, GE, YamahaMotor Corp, Yamalube, GYTR, Kenda Tires, FMF, Factory Connection, Flat tire Defenders, Endro Enginering ,Rekluse, IMS,GPR Stabilizers,TM Designworks,Gaerne Boots, Wiseco, AM Pro, DP Brakes, Stickman Graphx, Unabiker, Fasst Co Flexx Handlebars,  Scott USA, Mad Man Cleaning Solution, Titan Industrial, CV products, Bill Dailey.
