Team UXC Race Report from Mud Mucker

Friday, March 14, 2014 | 10:10 AM

Starting the season off with an all-new track for 2014, the Mud Mucker GNCC lived up to its name. Even with all the mud, the Sun-Shine State provided a beautiful landscape for the first race. The excellent weather also brought in the spectators. Team UXC welcomed race fans all weekend at their 4x4 Pro Pit area, allowing fans to see the Polaris Scrambler 850 XP up close and personal. The new pit area drew in lots of media attention to see for themselves what all the buzz was about.

The excitement of the inaugural 4x4 Pro Class is heavily contended this year with many top experienced riders. Team UXC’s Michael Swift was on the front line when the Teeennnn Seconds was announced and Rickey Towery dropped the green flag. Swift quickly worked his way into the lead by the end of the first lap. Seeing the two card at the finish line, Swift knew he would have to settle in for a five lap race and decided to pit for fuel. The lead swapped multiple times between several riders. Unfortunately, after battling in the top position for most of the race, Swift’s bike had a belt failure.

“I was pleased to see so many Polaris Scramblers on the starting line this morning. It is a testament to the confidence that riders have in this machine. I am especially proud of how well the Polaris Scrambler 850 XP performed today. This race proves that the Scrambler 850 XP is up to the challenge. We are going to take it as a learning experi-ence and come back ready in Georgia next weekend,” stated Swift.

Other key highlights from the Mud Mucker race include Team UXC sponsored rider, Josh Copeland, bringing home a first place podium finish in the 4x4 Novice Class. Tayton Swift, Michael’s son, also represented Team UXC with a third place finish in the 90cc 8-12 year old class. Congratulations to Josh and Tayton. Team UXC Factory Polaris Racing wants thank all of our sponsors who came to support the Team in Florida. A special thanks to Chris with FOX Speed FX, Heather with Maxxis Tires, John with Evans Racing Coolants, and Larry with DP Brakes for your support at the track this weekend.
