Jason Thomas Continues 2014 Race Preparation with Another Triumphant Victory

Monday, February 3, 2014 | 12:10 PM

Maxxis/KLiM/DirtWise KTM team racer Jason Thomas rode to a magnificent overall victory at Rd. 1 of the Louisiana Cross Country series, held in perfect conditions at Piney Woods on Sunday, Febraury 2.

Jason Thomas was very pleased with this opening race result of 2014 and went on to say, "I had such a fun time out there today and was stoked was get another victory so early in the race season. The track was actually quite technical with lots of deep ruts especially through all of the swampy sections - it brought back childhood memories of smashing across the bogs of the Welsh countryside from when I was a kid growing up in England!"

"I was so stoked with not only how awesome the bike was in its performance but I was also very pleased with the way I rode it, especially seeing as I broke a rib the previous week while training. Sure now, the rib injury has been somewhat uncomfortable to deal with however has hampered me too much because in the last 8 days I have instructed two DirtWise schools and won this race. I've been building my strength and endurance during the winter getting ready to hit it hard in this year's XC1 class in GNCC. I'm building up to be a bonafide contender at the GNCCs so today's result reinforces that I'm definitely on track to make that happen. I'm excited and eager to come out swinging at Rd. 1 in Florida!!!"
