Monday, November 11, 2013 | 12:25 PM

Red Bull KTM Factory rider Taddy Blazusiak earned his second victory of the 2013 AMA EnduroCross Series at the penultimate round held at Idaho Center. Factory FMF/KTM rider Mike Brown finished 4th overall and leaves Boise tied with Blazusiak for the points lead as they head to the final round.

Brown was placed in heat number one where he earned a great start but fell in the first corner. He quickly recovered but fell again in the wood chips moments later. He regrouped in sixth place and went to work to try and pick off as many riders as possible. He eventually moved up to 4th place before another bobble pushed him back to 5th. With only one lap remaining he was unable to move up to a qualifying spot. He went back to the pits to prepare for the LCQ while Blazusiak got ready for his turn in heat three.

Blazusiak earned the holeshot in his heat race and went on to lead the first lap before tipping over and allowing Gary Sutherlin to make a pass for the lead. Blazusiak quickly bounced back and began to reel in Sutherlin. On the second lap he made a pass for the lead and pulled away to a 14 second gap before taking the win.

In the last chance qualifier Brown took the holeshot but fell in the wood chips. He rebounded and began to chase the lead ride of Kevin Rookstool. On the last lap, Brown and Rookstool were side by side in the wood chips. Both riders got stuck, and luckily, Brown was the first to get going. He went on to take the win and a transfer spot to the main event.

The riders then lined up for their hot lap to determine gate pick order. Brown was able to put down the second fastest time while Blazusiak ended up with the fourth quickest time.

When the gate dropped for the main event, both KTM riders leaped out front. Brown grabbed the holeshot while Blazusiak sat in 2nd. Brown got stuck on a rock on the first lap allowing Blazusiak and Cody Webb to get by. Blazusiak and Webb rode wheel to wheel as they battled for the lead. Webb edged out Blazusiak as they rounded the corner knocking Blazusiak off the track. On the sixth lap, Webb went down in the wood chips and allowed Blazusiak to close the gap. At the end of the lap Blazusiak was able to pass into the lead. Once out front, Blazusiak began to pull away from the field. He was able to pull a 7 second gap before crossing the finish line to take the win.

Meanwhile, Brown stalled his bike with three laps to go and allowed Colton Haaker to make a pass. Brown was able to get back in the action and finished the race in 4th. His result allows him to stay in the championship points chase as he is now tied for the lead with Blazusiak heading to the final round.
