The Ironman GNCC was born in the fall of 1995 when GNCC Racing paid it’s first ever visit to the state of Indiana. The race was named in memory of one of top GNCC ATV racers, Bob “Ironman” Sloan who claimed the 1989 and 1992 GNCC ATV championships. Bob received the Ironman nickname for competing on both ATV and a bike in the same weekend. After Bob passed away and the chance to host a GNCC event in his home state of Indiana arose, it only seemed fitting to name the race “The Ironman” in his honor.

Since its inception, The Ironman has grown from a typical race, to a true festival like atmosphere. The town of Crawfordsville as well as the Shaver Family who owns the property welcomes the event with open arms and the spectators turn out by the truckload to enjoy the racing action. The course itself challenges riders with fun flowing trails coupled with some steep hills, creek crossings and long winding field sections through the corn fields all with some of the best dirt of the GNCC season.

The latest addition to The Ironman property is the all-new motocross track. Currently still under construction during the 2013 event, the existing portions used for the 2013 race proved to be a fun addition for the riders that will be welcomed for years to come.

The Ironman has proved itself to be one of the most popular events in GNCC Racing and will continue to provide racers and fans alike with fun and entertaining racing action for years to come.
