Team KR4 Arrive-n-Ride Report - Snowshoe

What an exciting finish to an exciting race at the summer break event of the season! After starting on the front row of the live engine "Blackwater" style start at Snowshoe, Chris Bach needed to overcome a 10 second deficit on second row starter Thad Duvall in order to finish third and get on the podium. Although finishing third "on track" ahead of Duvall and behind second place finisher Charlie Mullins and winner Kailub Russell, Chris had made up only 6 of the 10 seconds he needed to finish ahead of Duvall. Interestingly, the 10 second deficits at Snowshoe due to the starting rows of 5 on each row are viewed as a farce because it is said by the top riders that those on later rows reap a huge benefit from them. The benefit is that at the beginning of the race a 10 second gap allows the riders behind to see the riders ahead and easily close the 10 second deficit and "put it in their pocket" so to speak for later in the race. Nonetheless, a 4th place finish at Snowshoe gives Chris; 9 for 9 in top 10 finishes and 7 of 9 in top 5 finishes for the year, he has 3 podiums, is 3rd in Overall Top 20, and 3rd overall in XC1.

Kurtis Palmer finished 4th in 200A! However, Kurtis races in the 200B class! This was a "breakout" performance for Kurtis in his fourth race with the KR4 team. This stellar exhibition actually yielded 3rd in the 200B class and 99th overall in the 3-hour race of 203 bikes. It was extremely exciting to see how Kurtis' race played out as he went from 5th to 4th to 3rd in class on successive laps. What was more significant and amazing to those of us on the sidelines watching his race unfold, was that Kurtis was constantly gaining on the 200A riders who started numerous rows ahead of him!!! So much so that comments were heard from team members of those 200A riders!!! Kurtis has now become our resident "gnarliest terrain expert" on the team and we are very proud of him!!!

Ben Parsons continues to hold down 1st overall in 250B standings!!!

With his 9th place finish at Snowshoe Jeremy Randolph moved up to 3rd overall in Open B standings!!!

At the summer break mark of the season the KR4 Arrive-n-Ride team has 1 class leader, 4 riders who are top 5 in class, and 6 riders who are top 10 in class!!!
