Chris Bach came oh so close to finishing 2nd at the Mountaineer! As the final lap started Chris had just taken over 2nd from Charlie Mullins while Kailub Russell had the lead. Chris describes that on that final lap he had put about 20 seconds on Mullins when he came upon a downed rider's bike lying across a deep rut around a blind corner section of single track. He t-boned the bike and went down but it really wasn't a big deal. He picked his bike up and remained calm realizing he had the 20 seconds on Mullins and began to try and fire the bike back up. Unfortunately, it took 2 minutes for the bike to restart but by then both Mullins and Strange had gone past. Adding insult to injury Chris had another fall in blitz mode to catch back up putting him further behind Mullins at the finish.

·         Chris' misfortune is a bummer but we at KR4 cannot emphasize enough how proud we are of him for his outstanding performances this year and dare we say you read it here first - CHRIS BACH WILL OVERALL A GNCC RACE THIS YEAR!
·         Another rider we are very proud of is Brandon Keegan. Brandon delivered on his promise of doing better this race with a 8th (of 20 riders) in the 85 12-13 class and jumping from 12th to 9th overall in the standings!
