Chris Borich took another step on his path to the 2013 GNCC championship with a win at Round 7, the John Penton. Fellow Maxxis rider Chris Bithell also made the podium with a third-place finish in the race, held June 1 in Millfield, Ohio.

Borich and Bithell started strong, quickly making their way toward the front of the pack. Walker Fowler, who won the previous round, had a more difficult start, but was in contention for a podium spot by the middle of the race. Borich secured first place with a late-race pass, with Bithell in third and Fowler in fourth place. Borich praised the performance of his Razr rear and Razr2 front tires. “I was third off the line, and the tires hooked up awesome into the corners,” he said. “There was a grass track section I could just square up and get by them.” Borich, Fowler and Bithell hold the top three spots in the series’ standings.

Maxxis swept the XC2 podium, with Brycen Neal, Landon Wolfe and Fred Marley taking the top three spots. Josh Merritt also did well, taking seventh place in XC2. Neal is first in points for the class, with Wolfe in third place, Marley in fourth and Merritt seventh. Additionally, Maxxis-backed Marshall Goings won the College A class and earned the Top Amateur Award for the afternoon.

Maxxis congratulates Chris Borich on his latest victory and thanks all of its riders for their fine performances.
