Atlas Cycles / Stickman Graphx Report - Mammoth

Monday, May 6, 2013 | 3:15 PM

The Atlas Cycles / Stickman Graphx offroad race team traveled to Kentucky for round 5 of the Amsoil Grand National Cross Country Series.  Heavy rains throughout the weekend made for extremely slick, muddy conditions. The am and pm races were combined into one single 2 hour race in an effort to maintain the best possible track conditions. However, this also made for more racers in the evening race to contend with. The Atlas/Stickman team was up for the challenge with all 4 pm riders finishing in the top 40 overall with career best finishes. Matthew Nix finished an impressive 13th overall and 3rd in 250A after a first turn crash left him fighting his way forward all day. Dylan Stout also competed in the 250A class where he finshed 8th and 37th overall. Wes Keller rode the 4 stroke A lites class where he finished 3rd and 29th overall just behind XC2 rider Lucas Statom who rode to a season best 7th place class finish.

Additionally Super mini rider Braxton Mcgee made his presence know once again in the youth race where he finshed 4th overall and in class after a first turn crash in the mud left him charging from behind all day to score valuable points and maintain his points lead while minimizing the damage.

The team will be back in action in Indiana for Round 6 of the GNCC Series.  As always, we'd like to thank the following sponsors for all their support!
