Bryan Buckhannon & Bryan Walker Report - Big Buck

Monday, April 29, 2013 | 12:30 PM

Beckley, WV – Starting with the hole shot Bryan Buckhannon was on fire as he entered the woods in 1st place.  Desisting to cross the finish line before anyone Buckhannon rode his Can-am Outlander with determination.  Experiencing power steering loss on the first lap Buckhannon was forced to ride hard to maintain the 4x4 open class lead.  Fasst Company’s Flexx handlebars were an essential asset for relieving pressure from Buckhannon’s arms while riding ¾ of the race without power steering.  Flexx handlebars absorbed the shock and vibration from Big Buck’s terrain that would have been transferred to his body.  Buckhannon was able to ride at a faster pace with more control.  Holding Buckhannon’s hands in place on the Flexx handlebars were Spider Grips.  Buckhannon has always been pleased with Spider Grips’ ability to stay in place no matter the length or difficulty of a ride.  Buckhannon brought home the class win & placed 4th in the utility overall.

Bryan Walker, Buckhannon’s nephew, came off the hole shot in 3rd place.  Walker was holding on to his Flexx handlebars coupled with Spider Grips’ and giving his Yamaha all he had.  As the row of about 15 riders in the 125 Junior 8-11 years were primarily covered in blue plastic it was the speed Walker brought complimented with his fiery orange & red FLY racing gear that gave him the same fire look as his uncle.  Walker was 3rd off the hole shot, 5th into the woods & back to 3rd by the end of the first lap.  Walker maintained a about a 12 second lapse from the leader throughout the race.  Due to mechanical issues Walker’s machine blew its engine after starting the “2 laps to go,” leg of the race.  Walker was very disappointed not to finish the race.  Walker is more determined than ever to prove himself in Park City, KY.

It was Bryan Buckhannon & Bryan Stafford racing Can-am’s Maverick tearing up the UTV track in Big Buck.  The hole shot looked great from the initial take off from the second line in the XC1 class.  As the two entered the first turn their UTV was hit from behind causing the tail end to have a fish tail effect.  With the amount of the throttle Buckhannon had poured on his Maverick in the first turn Stafford was almost forced to kiss the ground.  Thankfully the two landed on all 4 tires yet faced the challenge of moving up from 12th place into the woods.  Buckhannon & Stafford fought their way back towards the top with a 6th place finish in the XC1 class.  Advancing 6 spots in a UTV race can be tough as there are less available spaces to pass with UTV machines.  That thought alone means Buckhannon had to hold great control over his Maverick.  Power steering sponsored by the guys at Superatv.com made staying in control to pass other UTVs a graceful task for the Bryan duo.  Buckhannon says, “Power steering in the UTV is a must.  Without powering steering I may not be holding the number 4 spot in the class points.”

All the Bryan’s are proud & appreciative of their 2013 sponsors:
