Husqvarna Race Report - Big Buck

Corona, CA -  Fred Andrews Racing (FAR) Husqvarna's Andrew DeLong got back to his winning ways at the Big Buck GNCC in Union, South Carolina, taking another big victory in the XC2 class. DeLong checked out from the field, extending his championship lead to over 20 points after only four rounds! Another Husqvarna rider was hard at work over the weekend, taking on the International X Games Enduro X. Factory Husqvarna's Cory Graffunder made the trek to Foz do Iguacu, Brazil where he proudly placed his TXC310R in the top-10 with a seventh place finish at the inaugural event.

Andrew DeLong and the Fred Andrews Racing Husqvarna team headed to the Big Buck GNCC in search of another win. DeLong started the season with a win streak, but was stunted at round three by a hard crash. AD still managed to limp to a fourth-place finish to retain the points lead, but made a prompt return to the top of the podium in South Carolina.

DeLong tackled the 12-mile course aboard his TXC250R, and steadily pulled a gap over the field. With a lead of over a minute just before the white flag, DeLong unintentionally kept things exciting with a hard crash. Andrew managed to rip his rear fender off and smash his exhaust half shut, reducing his lead to 25-seconds. Some quick work in the pits and a steady last lap allowed DeLong to still capture the win.

"I had a great start and just put the hammer down," DeLong said. "I had a big lead and almost gave away this win... but I still won!"

Meanwhile, in the southern hemisphere, Graffunder was proudly representing Husqvarna at the Foz do Iguaçu X Games. The Canadian had hopes of taking home another X Games medal (after earning silver at the 2012 Summer X Games in Los Angeles), but welcomed a respectable seventh place finish on what was an extremely technical course.

As X Games promoters promised, the Brazilian course was faster and more "moto-ish" than a traditional EnduroCross course, but the most technical obstacle proved to be the slippery dirt. No one escaped the track without slipping and sliding into the ground at least once, but Graffunder put his long limbs to work and powered his Husqvarna TXC310R around the course. Early in the 10-lap main event Cory ran inside the top-three, but the wild night saw his position change many times before settling into seventh overall.

"We're thrilled to have Cory Graffunder representing Husqvarna at the first International X Games Enduro X race," commented Husqvarna Marketing Manager Corey Eastman. "And we are beyond excited to see Andrew DeLong and the FAR Husqvarna team take another big win. Andrew is in a league of his own and it's great to see this young rider and the Husqvarna TXC250R in the GNCC spotlight."
