Maxxis Bike Report - River Ranch

The podium was Maxxis territory at the first round of the GNCC motorcycle season, held March 12 in River Ranch, Florida. Josh Strang was third in XC1 Pro, while FAR Husqvarna’s Andrew Delong won the XC2 Pro Lites race and nabbed fifth place overall. Jason Thomas was second in XC2 Pro Lites and took sixth place overall.

After a strong start, Strang was among the front four riders for much of the race, and surged in the latter half to take his spot on the podium. Maxxcross SI tires proved to be solid performers for Strang as he began the season.  “I ran the SI in the sand this weekend, and I’ll probably run that most of the year. It works best for me in all conditions,” he said. “I got off to a good start, and the tires got me through the deep sand and held up really good. We’ll have a fresh set mounted up for the Maxxis General and we’ll tear it up again!” The Maxxis General is the second round of the GNCC motorcycle series, scheduled for March 16-17 in Washington, Georgia.

Delong was also pleased with his finish, the result of much preparation pre-season. “I have been busting my butt training,” he said. “I was not worried about getting tired today! I just followed them after I caught up from my crash in turn two. We all worked hard and it paid off!”

In other good news for Maxxis, rider Chris Bach was sixth in XC1 Pro and ninth overall, FAR Husqvarna’s Craig Delong won the 4- stroke A Lites class, Kacy Martinez took second place in the Women’s class in the morning race, and Jimmy Jarrett won Sportsman A and the overall for the morning.

Maxxis congratulates all its riders on their fine performances and looks forward to the Maxxis General.
