Atlas Cycles / Stickman Graphx Report - River Ranch

Friday, March 15, 2013 | 10:50 AM

The Atlas Cycles / Stickman Graphx offroad race team traveled to River Ranch, FL for the season opener of the Amsoil Grand National Cross Country Series.  The riders took to the sandy Florida track which was unique to traditional GNCC racing conditions.  In the 250 A class, Matthew Nix got a top 10 start, making his way quickly to the number one spot.  He held onto the lead for 2 laps, while battling with Open A rider Jason Klammer for the Top Amateur spot, until he had a chain adjuster break.  Upon fixing the bike, he went back out in 11th place and worked his way back up to a 5th place finish.

Also, moving up from 250 B last season to 250 A class was rider Dylan Stout, who got a great jump off the start entering the first turn in 3rd position.  However, Dylan's day would be cut short due to clutch complications early in the race.  Dylan is a strong, consistent rider and won't let this discourage him in moving forward.

In the 4-Stroke A Lites class, Wes Keller got a solid top 3 start off the line, then dropped back to 7th where he ran consistently the remainder of the day and finished strong.

We would also like to congratulate hometown motocross racer, Geico Honda's Zach Osbourne on his 3rd place finish in the XC2 Pro Lites class.  Zach led a majority of the race, which was only his second ever GNCC event.

The team will return for more racing action in Washington, GA for the second round of the GNCC season.
